December 8th, 2010 — Dates for your diary
The first day was yesterday, and Waterfront action have put up many documents related to this on their website. In particular there’s a (rough) timetable of the enquiry, here.
I’ve been told by one of the participants that this does not represent the other rights of way such as that between Bourne Park and Halifax Way.

From the email. Note that this is in day time:
Dear Forum Member/Area Resident
The next South West Ipswich Area Forum will be happening on:
South West Ipswich Area Forum
2010 at 11.00am
We have an interesting discussion for you on this date. Tibbs Pinter (Community Cohesion Co-ordinator, Ipswich Borough Council) will be leading a debate about the “Big Society”. We need many of you to attend this as possible as we need your ideas to explore just what this new idea means to Ipswich Communities.
Bob Clench, Team Leader for Maintenance (IBC – Highways and Construction) will be talking to you about the Winter Gritting programme as well as a new scheme that you may like to take part in.
The Police will be asking you to choose the Priorities in your ward via their interactive voting system.
As always, there will be the opportunity to chat with Officers, Councillors, partner agencies, neighbours and friends during the Info-Break and share your concerns. As always, please bring your neighbours, friends, family. So, come on, get involved and have your say.
Children are more than welcome to attend – we have activity sheets and coloured pens to keep them happy and occupied. However, please note that because no crèche facilities are available children will have to be supervised by the adults they come with.
Yours sincerely
Val Peacock
(Community Development Officer)

I’ve been criticised by Andrew Coates for not “engaging” with Suffolk Unison’s attempt to sacrifice services in order to preserve jobs (I will talk about that particular failure of the left later) and instead talking about the East Anglian Children’s Hospice. So in that spirit this is Ben Gummer‘s itinerary on Sunday:
8h30 – Meet at Ben’s current office, IP-City, 1 Bath Road, Ipswich, IP2 8SD
9h00 – Start cycling through Bridge
11h00/11h30 – Finish Bridge at Stone Lodge Lane (just outside Bridge)
11h30/12h00 – Start Stoke Park
14h00/14h30 – Finish at The The Kingfisher, Hawthorn Drive, Ipswich. Break for lunch.
14h30/15h00 – Start Sprites
17h00/17h30 – Finish at Hawthorn Drive Shops car park.
Sorry for the European times, but it’s from Ben Gummer so what do you expect?

From the Waterfront action email:
Suffolk County Council are holding a 6 day public inquiry starting on Tuesday 7th December around Rights of Ways around the Waterfront/Docks area. Often the public aren’t always aware of consultations which are happening so we are letting you know about this. Please feel free to pass this information on freely to others so as many people are aware of this as possible.
Follow the link below to find out more information….and we will continue to post information as we know about it.

October 16th, 2010 — Announcements, Dates for your diary
I received this today and will repost it:
Dear James,
We have organised a Mozambican music night in Ipswich Next Saturday. Deodato Siquir is a jazzy world musician from Mozambique.
We have hired DanceEast and need to fill it. Hopefully we will make some money and it is to build a children’s playground in Mozambique.
Can you tell people about it pease? People phone or email us and then come and collect and pay for tickets on the night.
Here is all the information.
We also want to leaflet the area around the Waterfront. Can you suggest the best places to leaflet and an efficient way of doing this?
Thank you very much.
