They’re fighting over Bridge

Ben Gummer and Chris Mole faced off against each other in Maidenhall Green. Not as exciting as it sounds.

Ben Gummer and his team were out of their car in Halifax Road at 6pm to join up with a couple of local activists. They saw Chris Mole and a load of Labour councillors including David Ellesmere, leader of the Labour group starting to shuffle canvass cards.

If you canvass you know that you don’t want to be second on the same day, so the Tories fanned around Maidenhall Green and Conway Close.

Labour were stuck and so the MP and councillors ended up leafleting the Maidenhall Estate. That’s probably messed up their delivery schedule as well.

Although I think that Labour got the better part of the deal, as the canvassing was supposedly awful, for Labour with their voters going everywhere.

Which goes to prove, both sides are fighting over Bridge. If you get a mixed Labour/Tory contingent at the next council elections – which you can only get by voting Conservative – then the politicians won’t just be fighting over you but working their guts out for you.
