Plymouth Citybus was sold to Go-Ahead for £20 million.
They have a much more modern fleet of some 100 vehicles.

In contrast most of the vehicles in the Ipswich Buses fleet are over five years old.
Approximately 20% of the fleet has been sold off during the past year, leaving approximately 80 buses, of which a large proportion are step entrance double deckers used for schools contracts.

Two new vehicles are due during this year under the governments Green Bus Grant.
Neither of these vehicles are destined for normal route workings.
The Optare solo will be used on the town centre free shuttle whilst the Alexander Dennis Enviro200H is intended for use on the BT Contract.

I cannot see how Ipswich Buses could receive much more than £5 million especially as Constantine Road Depot will not be part of the deal.

Bus prices will drop. Services will be more frequent. The more buses you run the more it costs in fuel and driver costs, however, the more people who will use the bus. The lower the prices the more affordable it is meaning more people will use it.

Put it another way it is cheaper to travel in London than it is Ipswich - due to volume. However, London is a HUGE city compared to our town. It is a rip off. Hopefully go-ahead will use it as a business.
